Department of Botany

Botany Department is the glorious department of Barama College. It was first started on 15th August 1992 along with the introduction of Science Stream at this premier Institution. Dr. Mantu Mahanta was first HOD of the Botany Department, then he left and Dr. Arundhati Bezbarua joined. Later Mr. Chidananda Baruha, Mrs. Chandasmita Choudhury and Bidyut Bikash Deka joined in the Department. At this time, there are three faculties in the department. At this time, there are three faculties in the department. The department has been imparting both Honours and Regular Course in Botany. The Department has its own departmental library with two hundred books. The department arranges yearly Botanical excursion to a place of Botanical interest. It also maintain a collection of herbenium sheets. The Laboratory has been equipped with modern instruments, chemicals, reagents and specimens.
